Is Anderson Cooper blind? Not anymore, but because of a freak accident, Anderson Cooper was blind for almost two days, the journalist revealed on his show. While on assignment in Portugal, Anderson Cooper went blind after his eyes were burned by the bright sunlight.
"It was a freak thing," Anderson Cooper said, according to the Huffington Post. "I was on the water... and I burned my eyeballs, which i didn't even know you could. I'm an idiot."

Anderson Cooper went blind while doing a story at sea. While filming, the bright sunlight reflecting off the water burned his eyes, leaving Anderson Cooper blind for 36 hours. The freak accident that left Anderson Cooper blind also forced him to wear an eye patch for several days.
Despite the scary ordeal that left Anderson Cooper blind, he and his CNN coworkers remain in good spirits.
"This is what happens when I let you go around and you're not chaperoned," HLN anchor Isha Sesay joked.
"That's very true," Cooper replied. "I was very lucky and I got medical attention and I can see. I'm just putting in a lot of drops. It'll be a week or so, but I'm doing alright."
