Josh Hamilton's weight loss can be attributed to two things: juicing and Jesus.

On his first day in the clubhouse with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Hamilton said he's down to about 225 pounds instead of his normal 245 to 255 pounds because he's changed his diet. Josh Hamilton's weight loss is the result of the superstar slugger following his instincts.

"The Lord kept waking me up in the middle of the night over a month and every time I'd wake up there'd be a doctor on talking about what you put in your body and how it makes you feel," Hamilton told the Orange County Register. "And then the juice lady was on. It was like, Alright, I always pray the Lord will help me feel better. Well, that's all great, but am I doing my part? Now it's time for me to do my part."

Hamilton was in the middle of a fast for his church when the insomniac sign hit him. And after signing a five-year, $125-million deal with the Angels over the winter it appears that Josh Hamilton's weight loss has put him in the right mindset to deliver on the potential Angels' owners saw in him. Hopefully they didn't misunderstand when Hamilton told reporters his weight loss was due to "doing the juicing stuff."

Who is the mysterious "Juice Lady" behind Josh Hamilton's weight loss? Her name is Cherie Calbom. She has practiced as a clinical nutritionist at St. Luke Medical Center and as a celebrity nutritionist for George Foreman and Richard Simmons. Known as "The Juice Lady" for her work with juicing and health, her juice therapy and cleansing programs have been popular for more than a decade. She advocates juicing because, according to her website, "most people don't come even close to getting the number of servings of vegetables needed every day. Juicing can make it possible to reach the goal of a minimum of 9 servings a day without requiring a lot of time."
