Teagan Marti was severely injured in an amusement park accident in 2010 after malfunctioning safety equipment at Extreme World in Wisconsin Dells caused her to plummet 100 feet. She fractured her pelvis and spine in the fall and spent months in physical therapy to regain use of her arms and legs. Her medical bills are staggering, but there's one thing her family won't have to pay for -- a therapy dog.  Television superstar Charlie Sheen paid for her therapy dog, plus expenses, with a $10,000 check after he heard about Marti's story through his godfather. Sheen's godfather has a mutual friend with Marti's family, and Sheen paid for a therapy dog that is currently being trained to help Monti do things like turn on lights, pick up objects and be Marti's constant companion.

"I think he's a very kind person for helping me and my family and very generous," Teagan Marti told the Washington Times.

Marti's mother, Julie, was overwhelmed when she learned Sheen paid for the therapy dog. She told the newspaper that her house is being foreclosed on and the insurance company isn't covering physical therapy for Teagan anymore. On top of all that, she's also going through a divorce and didn't know how, or if, she'd pay for a therapy dog.

"I'm in such disbelief," Julie Marti said. "I was crying ... What a guy. What a guy."

Despite the obvious PR advantages of the move, Sheen paid for the therapy dog quickly and quietly. After the story started to spread, Sheen embraced the move in the hopes that it will inspire others to donate to charity.

"I like to pay it forward," Sheen told the Washington Times. "People come into your orbit for a reason. You don't always know what that is ahead of time, but if I ignore these requests then I don't have any opportunity to see where these things lead us, or lead me."

Marti will get the fully-trained English golden Retriever in September.
