An inner-city neighborhood in Pittsburgh is reeling after a madman's random stabbings at a Target store ended with five injured and one suspect in custody. Leon Raymond Walls is in police custody and faces homicide charges after his stabbings at a Target in the East Liberty neighborhood caused a chaotic scene as two citizens chased Walls with a baseball bat and restrained him until police responded to the scene.

Pittsburgh city police officer Ronald Tardivo was the first on the scene of the stabbings at Target after he received a call about two men chasing another man with a baseball bat. When he arrived at the Target he reported that multiple people were bleeding from stab wounds caused by Walls, including Jobe Wright, one of the men who ran Walls down and chased him inside the Target.

According to police, Walls stabbed Wright a few blocks from the store and committed more stabbings at the Target once he was confronted by Wright and another man looking to stop the steak-knife wielding lunatic. Inside the Target, Walls reportedly grabbed 16-year-old Allison Meadows and held the knife against her while threatening his pursuers.

"You come close, I'll stab her," Walls allegedly warned the men before stabbing the girl twice in the back. A native of Tennessee, she was in Pittsburgh visiting family.

"He kept stabbing her. Me and like four or five other guys, they ran and tackled him ... He cut the one guy's lip almost off. The other guy's finger was, like, hanging off,' one witness told local TV station WTAE.

Once police arrived at the stabbings at Target they found Walls struggling to free himself from several bystanders who had managed to subdue him inside the store but not before sustaining injuries themselves. Roland Smith was stabbed in the right hand, Wright was stabbed in his lip in addition to his previous arm wound, Hosea Davis had two fingers possibly broken and Mike E. Turner was scratched and began feeling chest pains as a result of the struggle, police said. A witness told local tv station KDKA that Walls was on the receiving end of some vigilante justice before police arrived.

"He was getting his tail whooped with a bat, with fists," Chris Jones told KDKA. "He was getting tore up and I think he deserved it."

Police managed to mace and taser Walls into submissions and paramedics were able to take the victims to local hospitals. Wright and the other men who captured Walls were listed in good condition; however, the girl Walls used as a human shield during his stabbings at Target is listed in serious condition with a collapsed lung at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. According to her Twitter account, she is recovering from surgery.
