Barbie is the latest celebrity to be photographed sans makeup. Barbie's normally heavily-painted visage was wiped clean, and the face underneath all the powder, eye shadow, mascara and lip gloss looks something like a sleep-deprived crack addict.

Yahoo News reports that a graphic artist by the name of Eddi Aguirre made a mockup of the bare-faced Barbie and posted it to his online portfolio. The au-natural Barbie has freckles, under-eye circles, braces, fly-away hairs and looks something like a young woman who was kept awake for 72 hours through copious amounts of caffeine and a few waterboardings. In other words, she looks super strung out and defeated.

According to Aguirre's Behance profile, the graphic designer lives in Mexico. A caption above his Barbie pictures, roughly translated into English, reads: "Image used for a special makeup for the new magazine, Barbie shows before and after makeup (no one is perfect)."

You can see photos of Aguirre's makeup-less Barbie here.

All the iterations of Barbie through the years are polished, glossy and flawless - except for the fact that she's an anatomical aberration. What's most shocking is how accurate the images appear to be. We're used to seeing Barbie look like her face was colored in by a five-year-old with a box of Crayola's, so seeing her with no makeup reminds us that Barbie really is an unrealistic role model for young girls.

"It's human nature for people to build up iconic figures and then tear them down," Fran Walfish, a child and family therapist based in Beverly Hills, CA, told Yahoo News. "We idealize public figures because we want something to aspire to but our standards are impossibly high. And when these icons inevitably misstep, we feel disappointed and angry that our hopes have been dashed."

And the responses to bare-faced  Barbie?

One Twitter user said, "OMG Barbie without makeup look like some of y'all."

Another commented online: "Basically saying you can only look beautiful with makeup...way to go!"
