Boston Marathon Terrorist Attack: Boston Police Commissioner Confirms Third Uncontrolled Bombing At JFK Library

By iScienceTimes Staff on April 15, 2013 5:20 PM EDT

UPDATE: 5:40 PM: Police say the explosion at the JFK library appears to be fire related.

UPDATE 5:30 PM: An unconfirmed fourth explosion has occurred at Tufts Medical Center.

Police Commissioner Ed Davis said during a press conference at the Westin Hotel that a third bomb went off at the JFK library. This explosion, he said, was not a controlled explosion.

"There has been a third incident," he told reporters. "There was an explosion that occurred at JFK Library. We're not sure if these incidents are related, but we're assuming they are."

Following the two simultaneous explosions at the Boston Marathon finish line, the streets are littered with bags, blankets and other belongings left behind as crowds frantically dispersed. Investigators are currently combing through anything left behind, looking for any more potential threats.

"Any bag left behind is being treated" as a danger, the police commissioner said during the conference.

He also said that at this time, no other device has been found on Boylston Street. The police commissioner is urging people to stay indoors and to return to their hotels.
