Boston Marathon Conspiracy: Why Is Sandy Hook Conspiracy Professor James Tracy Saying Boston Bombing Was Staged?
Florida professor James Tracy, who claimed last year's Sandy Hook shooting didn't happen, is now arguing that the Boston Marathon bombing was staged.
A self-described "media critic" and "educator," Tracy teaches Culture of Conspiracy at Florida Atlantic University, a public university in Boca Raton with a student enrollment of just under 30,000. He runs a blog called Memory Hole, where he publishes conspiracy theories regarding events like 9/11 and the Sandy Hook massacre.

"Memory Hole Blog is a forum for criticism and commentary on sociopolitical issues and phenomena overlooked or misreported by mainstream media," Tracy wrote on the site under "About."
Among his conspiracy theories is that "crisis actors" were hired to play grieving parents during the Sandy Hook shooting.
The 47-year-old professor now says that the Boston Marathon was a government setup.
In a post titled "Witnessing Boston's Mass Casualty Event," Tracy says that the entire scene at the Boston Marathon finish line following the explosion, which he says may have been nothing more than a smoke bomb, was made up by the media. "The corporate media proceeded in lockstep with dutifully propagating the authorized narrative of a combat-like environment at the marathon finish line," he wrote.
He says that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security was in cahoots with local authorities in Boston to stage a mass-casualty "drill" at the Boston Marathon.
Tracy quotes from a "veteran hypnotherapist" who said that media is a smoke screen meant to control our minds. "90 percent of all the mind control in the world is done by the media, and it is all based on the viewer or the reader never seeing anything really beyond the surface of what is presented," the hypnotherapist stated, according to Tracy.
The Boston Marathon conspiracy continues: Tracy says that the Boston Marathon bombing wasn't actually a bombing, but a drill meant to simulate a disaster. From the blog:
Alternative news media have also pointed to the presence of what appear to be private military contractors in matching civilian apparel operating in coordination with an unmarked SUV close to the Marathon finish line. Identically-dressed men are observable before the bomb blasts in the immediate proximity of where the first bomb exploded and across the street thereafter.
With the above in mind, photographic evidence of the event suggests the possibility of play actors getting into position after the detonation of what may in fact have been a smoke bomb or similarly benign explosive.
The Boston Marathon conspiracy theorist has also taken to Twitter to share his thoughts. "Boston Bombing Suspects: It was a Set Up. They were Framed by the FBI," he tweeted Sunday.

"Hard Questions Posed on Boston Bombing," he tweeted a few days earlier. He included a link to one of his blog posts in which he said the media threw routine "softball" questions at local authorities during a press conference on April 15.

Daily Mail reports that Florida Atlantic University officials are trying to distance themselves from Tracy's radical views. "The University stands with the rest of the country in our support of the victims of the Boston Marathon tragedy," they said. "We, too, are Boston Strong."
When Tracy first proposed his Sandy Hook conspiracy theory, he allowed a month to pass before he started making his controversial comments about the massacre. Daily Mail points out that this time around, Tracy only waited nine days to post his conspiracy theories about the Boston bombing.
