Arias Jury In Tears: Watch Heart Wrenching Victim Impact Statements From Travis Alexander's Siblings Steven And Samantha [VIDEO]
The Jodi Arias trial saw a change in tone during the sentencing phase, as attention was drawn away from Arias and towards the heartbroken family of victim Travis Alexander. Brother and sister Steven and Samantha Alexander each gave an emotional testimony before the courtroom, reducing the jury to tears.
"Unfortunately I won't ever get the answers to most of my questions about my brother's death," said Steven. "Questions like how much did he suffer? How much did he scream? What was he saying? What was the last thing he saw before his eyes closed? What was the final thought in his head?"

"My wife has woken me up out of nightmares because I was screaming in my sleep," continued Steven Alexander. "It may sound childish but I cannot sleep alone at the dark anymore. I've had dreams of my brother all curled in the shower, thrown in there and left for days, alone. I don't want these nightmares anymore. I don't want to have to see my brother's murderer anymore."
Next, describing the overwhelming pain that Travis' death has caused, Samantha Alexander expressed her grandmother's rapid decline in health following the loss of her grandson.
"My grandmother could not deal with loss, could not handle the reality of what happened," said Samantha. "Travis being taken from us has put her over the edge and her health eventually went to a downward spiral she never recovered from. Losing Travis has completely destroyed the overall health of our family."
"I am a police officer and some of these photos are more gruesome than any I have ever seen in my 11 years of law enforcement," she continued as soft gasps and muffled sobs could be heard across the courtroom. "Our minds are permanently stained with images of our poor brother's throat slit from ear to ear. Our minds are stained with images of Travis' body."
The victim impact statements resonated across the courtroom, causing jurors to seriously reflect on the appropriate sentence for Jodi Arias.
Jodi Arias' attorney, Kirk Nurmi, reminded the jury:
"Make no doubt about it, as the judge said to you moments ago, the verdict you will render is not a recommendation. The judge is not free to disregard it...if you sentence her to death, she will stand at this podium and be sentenced by the judge to death."
Stay tuned as the sentencing phase continues in the days ahead.
