Brielle Shooting Suspect 'Contained' By SWAT, Critically Injured Woman In Stable Condition [VIDEO, UPDATE]

The Brielle shooting suspect is contained in a home on Bay Point Harbour Road in Point Pleasant, reports NJ 1015.

According to Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office spokesperson Charles Webster, a 35-year-old woman was critically injured during a shooting that occurred at the Sand Bar Restaurant in Brielle, N.J. The single gunfire that struck the woman occurred just before 1 a.m., Tuesday.

The unidentified female victim has been rushed to the Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment. According to reports, the woman is in critical but stable condition.

Earlier today, Ocean County Prosecutor's Office representative Al Della Fave told Townsquare Media that a suspect is currently contained in a home on Bay Point Harbour Road. Authorities declined to reveal the identity of the suspect.

Residents on Bay Point Harbour Road have been evacuated by the SWAT team as the search for the suspect continues.

"Police were knocking on doors near the Bay Point Harbor Condominiums in Point Pleasant Borough," reported News 12 New Jersey. "Neighbors tell News 12 New Jersey the man police say they were looking for is the owner of the Sand Bar ... Police have not yet confirmed who was shot or the identity of the suspect. The victim was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center with unspecified injuries."

UPDATE:

NJ 1015 reports that the standoff between the SWAT team and the suspect of the Brielle shooting is over as the suspect bas been taken into custody at approximately 1:30 p.m. There are no reports of shots fired or persons injured during the standoff.
