Killeen Police Shooting: Veteran Suspect Dead; AK47 Attack Kills Officer, Second Officer In Critical [REPORT, VIDEO]

A Killeen police shooting left one police officer dead and another wounded. Police responded to a call on Saturday at 11:40 p.m. Residents of the Grandon Manor Apartments of Killeen, Texas, reported that a man standing by the pool had threatened the apartment residents with a large rifle.

Officers arrived at the scene to calm the man down and asked him to surrender to the police. However, the man did not cooperate and backed into his apartment instead. Eventually, the man emerged from the apartment with a powerful AK47 assault rifle and proceeded to fire many rounds at the officers. A police officer was killed from multiple gunshots while another is critically wounded. Thankfully, the wounded officer is expected to make a recovery.

While the identities of the police officers and the suspect of the Killeen police shooting are not released, residents of the Central Texas apartment complex claim the dead suspect was a former military veteran. 

While motives of the Killeen police shooting are unclear, local news KCEN claims an altercation was sparked by a tattoo. An investigation is conducted at this time.
