An "alien" head was uncovered from a cemetery in Croatia. The strange, gnarled object looks like something only surrealist painter Salvador Dali could make sense of; but the people who unearthed the "alien" head claim it's the genuine thing (although, we kind of think it looks like a really, really old volleyball).

International Business Times reports that workers were extending a graveyard in Medjimurje in northern Croatia when they uncovered a very bizarre alien-like head just three feet below the ground's surface.

According to Orange News, the "alien" head felt soft and rubberlike, and had a beak-shaped mouth. Apparently, it also smelled like aftershave.

"The really strange thing ... was the smell," one worker told Orange News. "Most things that come out of the ground don't smell too good."

Ivan Stefic, the mayor of the town where the "alien" head was uncovered, is pretty convinced it's the real deal.

"I know it sounds crazy but we can't think of any more rational explanation for what we've found," Stefic said.

He has even contacted scientists to request they take a look at the strange remains, which also included what looks like an alien heart. The head and heart are being held at town hall until they can be properly examined.
