A Kuwait lion was found roaming around the streets of the Bayan district, a suburb in Kuwait on Saturday. A passerby discovered the lion and decided to take action and get the animal off the streets. The motorist boldly lured the animal into his car.

According to reports, the motorist trapped the lion in his car, immediately contacting the police of the situation. The trapped Kuwait lion quickly grew agitated, prompting the motorist to jump out of the car. The young adult lion began to tear the interior to shreds. Eventually, Kuwaiti authorities that arrived to the scene managed to transfer the lion from the motorist's car into the back of a squad car.

"(The passerby) sat inside the car with the lion and then it became dangerous so the citizen called police who came and took it from that car to their car," reported a Kuwait police spokesperson.

Authorities believe that the lion escaped from the home of the rich owner of the Gulf state. Wealthy Kuwaitis are known to keep exotic pets as a status symbol.

A Kuwaiti police spokesman said: "People must be very cautious when they select the animals they want to keep as pets in their homes."
