Construction crew members unearthed what appears to be the site of a burial ground at the 16th-century Bethlehem Mental Asylum, known more colloquially as “Bedlam.” The burial site at Crossrail could open a window into London’s enigmatic past.

A Ross Township shooting in Pennsylvania has investigators combing the property of resident Rockne Warren Newell after the 59-year-old went on a firing rampage at a town meeting Monday. Newell was targeting town officials after his property was condemned. The Ross Township shooting ended only after another resident overpowered the shooter and shot him in the leg with Newell’s own gun.

Owen Just, a 5-year-old boy, was sucked into a drainpipe in Florida which carried him into the Caloosahatchee River. Brian Just says his son is safe after the incident. The city of Fort Myers has blocked the drainpipe and is looking to see whether other drainpipes around the city need to be blocked.

The Pacific Gas and Electric Co., the company who own the Bakersfield plant, say the injured onlookers were not standing in the safety area set up for onlookers.
